Greetings from Hyperspace Studios!
We're excited to announce two new collaborative art prints now available through our online store. Both are archival canvas museum-quality reproductions signed and dated by the artists.
Biomech Lightform was painted in collaboration between Guy Aitchison and renowned Pittsburgh abstract tattooist Don McDonald. Last year, we mentioned this project in a newsletter as Don and Guy were constructing the elaborate models that were to be used as reference for the final painting. The completed image is an epic psychedelic vision of a cavernous otherworldly space, the second in a series of collaborations between these two artists; reproductions are 22x32".
Aquatica was a collaborative effort between Guy and celebrated oceanic realist Deano Cook, combining Deano's sublime marine vision with Guy's alien sensibility to create a one-of-a-kind space that is both serene and otherworldly. This image was derived from a combination of clay models and Deano's underwater photos, resulting in an exciting and surreal image. Reproductions are 26x38".
Also on the subject of paintings, Guy has a collection of work printed in the July 2007 issue of Flash Magazine, available now at newsstands everywhere. Flash Magazine has been printing a series of 'outsert' magazine supplements with each issue featuring the paintings of various artists in the tattoo profession; this month's collection shows many of Guy's favorite paintings through the years.
We are pleased to introduce the first two sketches from an on going series entitled hypersketches. These fun and expressive watercolor like abstractions are originals created by Michele Wortman and available only at our Ebay store. Click here to find out how to add these great additions to your art gallery.
In addition, Michele and Guy's exhibition of paintings at Good Time Charlie's Tattooland has been extended for another month. During this time we will be listing many of these paintings on eBay; check out our eBay store throughout the coming month to see what we have available. If you are located in Southern California, drop by Tattooland to check out the art and to see the amazing tattoo work coming from the motley band of talented artists working there.
Last but not least, our new online store is up and running. The new store looks very similar to the old one, with one major exception: it works properly and doesn't reject transactions nearly as often as the old one. If you attempted to make a purchase at the Hyperspace store during the month of April and experienced difficulties, those problems have been fixed. Now is a great time to stock up on new Hyperspace clothing items for your summer wardrobe.
Thanks much,
Guy Aitchison & Michele Wortman
