Greetings from Hyperspace!
As we prepare for our big weekend in Los Angeles July 18-19, we're doing everything we can to bring attention to the Scratch Art project. We'll be showing all the originals at the Canvas LA Gallery on the 19th, and we're excited to see how this amazing body of work is received by the California audience. The show went over well at the Hell City Tattoo Expo this past May, to the extent that we decided to produce a short video on the event. This is our third short YouTube documentary we've done this year, and can be viewed at our YouTube channel, Tattoo Television. Check it out if you want to get a taste of how this unique collection of art looks when all hung up in one room. This video also features an in-depth Sunchannel interview and an electrifying fire dance performance by Ryan McGuire of Elemotion, and is part of our ongoing effort to document this year at Hyperspace Studios.
Anyway, if you are on the West Coast or Las Vegas, drop by and enjoy both events that we're participating in that weekend. This includes Visionary Art Los Angeles on July 18th, a live painting performance and discussion/presentation featuring Alex and Allyson Grey, Chet Zar, Saber, Jarrett DeMartino and Wendy Klein along with Guy Aitchison and Michele Wortman. This will be an expanded version of the HyperCoSMic Painting Jam that we were part of this past January, and promises to be a colorful and memorable evening. The following night, on the 19th, will be the big Scratch Art event, where we will hang the entire collection for the last time. There will also be a blank scratch wall in the gallery for attending artists to leave their mark on, and the most exciting panels from this wall will be auctioned off and the proceeds given to Little Kids Rock, an LA based charity that provides musical education for underprivileged kids. We expect to have many of the Scratch Art book's participating artists there, and have a few other surprises in mind for the evening. Be there if you can!
